Remember the Blood Drive April 15th
OSLC prepares and serves meals for the Melting Pot on the 2nd and 5th Wednesdays of the month. If you would like to help, please sign the list on the bulletin board in the hallway.
The date for April is the 11th.
Items Needed:
Deodorant shampoo shaving cream soap razors combs brushes Kleenex paper towels toilet paper twin bed sheets blankets
There is a designated box in the hallway for your donations
Thank you for your support of our Food Pantry. As you shop for groceries, continue to remember the food pantry. We can use all items. - Crackers

- Spaghetti
- Spaghetti Sauce
- Soup
- Macaroni & Cheese
- Cookies
- Jello
- Canned vegetables (green beans, peas, carrots, corn)
- Dry milk (packets – not boxes)
- Canned meat (tuna, beef stew, ham, etc.)
Note: Our most needed items currently are crackers, cereal, and canned fruit.

FOOD PANTRY

Social Ministry Committee
We will be leaders in seeking out all people in need of aid for the body, mind and/soul so they may feel the love of Christ through our ministries.
Larry Ecklund is Chair of the Social Ministry Committee. The Social Ministry Committee will be represented by the Helping Council Representative.
In order to achieve the objectives of this committee, focus should be on, but not limited to, the following duties and activities:
-- Oversee and publicize outreach projects or social action programs in the local community.
-- Oversee, organize and publicize appropriate appeals of the Church at large.
-- Oversee the congregation's study and consideration of the social statements proposed or issued by the ELCA.
-- Work with all congregation organizations in executing outreach projects, including but not limited to, such projects as Red Cross blood drives, Melting Pot/Daily Bread, and Help House.
-- Maintain Food Pantry
-- Assist the president and Pastor(s), if requested, in maintaining and disbursing the Discretionary Fund to those in need.
-- Work with all congregation members to collect products and/or monies for organizations that aid in working with the poor and other needy groups, including but not limited to, such groups as Good Samaritan Ministries, Safe Passage Domestic Violence Shelter, Ronald McDonald House, and The Crumley House.
Global and Regional Missions Committee
Katie Quillen is Chair of the Global and Regional Missions Committee. The Global and Regional Missions Committee will be represented by the Helping Council Representative.
The primary purpose of this group is to help the congregation focus on areas of need outside the Tri-Cities area. In order to achieve the objectives of this committee, focus should be on, but not limited to, the following duties and activities:
-- Oversee and publicize outreach projects or social action programs in the region, nationally and internationally.
-- Oversee, organize and publicize appropriate appeals of the Church at large.
-- Work with all congregation organizations in executing outreach projects, including but not limited to, such projects as Lutheran World Relief, Lutheran Disaster Response, ELCA World Hunger, and Heifer International.
-- Assist the president and Pastor(s), if requested, in maintaining and disbursing the Discretionary Fund to those in need.
-- Work with all congregation organizations in executing mission trips to aid needy individuals regionally, nationally and internationally.
